Katie Dilfer – April 2022 Prayer Letter

Dear Praying Friends,

God is working while we are waiting. I have heard that phrase so many times in life but I am thankful for how God is proving that to be true in my life right now. I don’t always understand His ways, but I know that I can trust my Savior who is faithful. My visa still has not arrived so I am not in South Africa. Will you please continue to pray that it will arrive soon?

Teaching a teen girls class at a partnering church in Kentucky!

In my previous letter, I asked you to pray for God to open ministry opportunities while I wait for my visa. God has done that! I am currently in Puerto Rico assisting a ministry that needs help for a few weeks due to another missionary needing to go back to the States urgently. I am excited to see what God is going to do in my time here. I arrived on Tuesday, March 29th, and hit the ground running. I am teaching in the Christian school, assisting with the music in the church, and helping in various other ministries. Please pray that God would use me to be a blessing and encouragement to those around me here.

Love these precious children in Puerto Rico!

Before coming to Puerto Rico, I was able to visit a partnering church in Kentucky and attend the missions conference at my sending church in Alabama. I am so thankful that God allowed me to be there for the conference. He is at work in my church family and it was great to see it first hand. During the conference we had a missions village where different countries were spotlighted. I enjoyed teaching a couple of the girls how to make Melktert, a South African dessert, for the South Africa night of the missions village.

Teaching these girls how to make Melktert!

Although I do not know when I will be able to leave for South Africa, I am still able to be a part of the ministry there through writing and designing gospel literature. Will you please pray that God would use these materials to see many people saved in South Africa?

Prayer Requests:

  • Please pray that God would use me to encourage those in the ministry here in Puerto Rico.
  • Please pray that I will receive my visa quickly so I can head to South Africa.
  • Please pray that God would use the gospel literature that I am making to see many saved.

Praises:

  • I am praising God for answering the prayer for ministry opportunities!
  • I am thankful to God for a safe trip to Puerto Rico and for His hand in guiding me here.
  • I am praising God that I am able to have a part in the ministry in South Africa even from Puerto Rico.
